Level 199
When Crafters Forge was once known as the City of Crag Fell, several dwarven mages created the scape, a region of shifting time and space as a source of recreation. Wealthy citizens could go on safaris or sightseeing trips off in the wilderness, without the inconvenience of ever leaving the caverns of home, or interacting with anyone less wealthy than they were. It is also believed by some that the pestilence which decimated Crag Fell came directly through this rift, brought back by some careless city dignitary. As Kamly Diamondbrow took control of the city, and changed much of its character, so he saw a use for what had previously been only a toy of the excessively wealthy. Dwarves have always quarrelled over mining rights, indeed the phrase "As jealous as a dwarf with a vein of ore", is a common expression. Kamly decided therefore, that the best use for the scape was to end any possible disagreements over mining, by allowing visitors to purchase tickets to have the spell direct them to an unpopulated region of the world rich with ore, where they'd have a few hours to prospect to their heart's content. Though the spell is still horribly expensive to cast, at least it's now within the price range of most normal people. When the magical properties of gems were discovered, for adventurers, the scape became critically important, since with the mage's ability to redirect the spell to any sort of terrain the prospective prospector would desire, it was easy to obtain even the rarest gems with nothing but a little elbow grease and some time and money. Then again, nothing could be more in the spirit of the dwarves of Crafters Forge than allowing the hard working to prosper.
