Once famous for the large and mystical tree which dominated this island, Hlua Orphanage was built here some 50 years ago to cater for human orphans from the surrounding settlements. Though nobody was really sure who the woman whom all call mother was, or where she, and her large family of aunts and uncles came from, there was no doubting their dedication or tireless commitment to caring for children, despite a few oddities in their appearance or the strange way they speak. All the children leaving this orphanage over the years have nothing but glowing reports of the care and love they received. True, some people have asked questions, like where all these new aunties and uncles come from, or how exactly, despite regular donations of food and clothing from local temples and charities, all of the orphanage's housekeeping and groundskeeping is done with little to no outside help. Yet most people, including those who grew up here, feel that sometimes it's better to just accept a good thing without asking, especially when it comes to providing a loving home for children who wouldn't otherwise have one.
