The gnomish artist's guild grew out of the specific interest of a number of extremely wealthy merchants, all high officials of the merchant's guild. Whether the artist's guild's primary interest is in the visual arts, or just the large sums of money that can be generated when a celebrated artist's works are put up for auction is anyone's guess. With the Merchants' Marketplace attracting such a diverse clientele from across the realms, it was natural for the artist's guild to get involved. Purchasing and renovating the fine old Palgrave manner, the artist's guild have created this new public gallery. Just to the west of the Merchants' Marketplace, the gallery's purpose is both to display master works of art produced throughout Erion's history, and to encourage the growth of new talent, even accepting paintings submitted by visitors. Of course, whether this sudden desire to bring art to the public is really just an excuse to sell more high priced paintings to rich and snobbish art patrons is debatable, nevertheless, any budding painters should definitely give the gallery a visit.
