For all its current respectability, the Roadhouse in has quite the checkered history. According to the present owners, the inn was at one time headquarters of the road watchers, a voluntary Melicia who kept travellers safe as they walked the roads. Unfortunately, history suggests the road watchers were actually little better than the bandits they pretended to fight, practicing extortion in the guise of "protection", and finally coming to a sticky end when the merchant's guild hired a force of mercenaries to completely eradicate them. Also according to the present owners, the roadhouse inn was once named the rest house, and was famed across the realms for the quality of its meals, and the good night's rest it offered to weary travellers. The "rest house", was in actual fact a very different sort of house, and though it undoubtedly offered beds to visitors, those beds came at a very high price, given the highly skilled, and highly priced prostitutes who occupied them. Whatever the roadhouse's past though, all agree that these days, the inn is justly famed for the comfort of its rooms, the quality of its kitchen and its ale, and the dedication of its staff; though a dedication which stops at making beds, rather than warming them. Many an adventurer has enjoyed a night's rest at the roadhouse, however given it's long and at times sordid history, the inn might offer more to an observant visitor than merely a comfortable place to relax, especially considering that as a meeting point for many travellers, there are undoubtedly those looking for the services of an adventurer.
