Beekeeping allows you to produce honeycomb in your own home, using an
apiary bolted to a pasture (no skill is required). Bees and hives can be
found while foraging in forests, woods, or trees. Beekeeping requires a
handcrafted apiary and 1 hive, 1 queen bee, and 10 worker bees to colonize
it with the command 'colonize <apiary>'. Once colonized, the bees in the
apiary slowly produce golden honeycombs over time (6 per day). You can
collect the honeycomb at any time with the command 'harvest <apiary>'. If
the queen's wings are not clipped after colonizing the apiary, there is a
chance she will fly away over time. Over time, the bees may retire. When
this happens, the apiary will need a new queen, fresh workers, and a new
hive to continue producing honey. You can check the status of your apiary
with the command 'look apiary'. A few apiaries are located around the game
and each player home is limited to having one.
