Syntax: cookbook recipes (<savory|sweet|beverages>)
cookbook recipe <name>
cookbook notes
Your cookbook records everything you have learned about cooking: the recipes
you know, and what you have worked out about pairing ingredients.
The command 'cookbook recipes' lists every recipe you have collected, grouped
as savory dishes, sweets and beverages. Name one of those to see that group
alone. A recipe joins your cookbook by being taught to you by a cook in Grand
Hearth Academy.
The command 'cookbook recipe <name>' shows:
the base ingredients, and how many of each your pantry holds
the optional ingredients you may choose from when preparing it
the tools, fires and water sources the steps call for
how many times you have prepared it, at each level of quality
That last line is worth watching. Reaching exquisite quality with a recipe
requires both a complete mastery of advanced cooking and a hundred previous
preparations of that particular dish, so the total tells you how far along
you are with it.
Optional ingredients require the advanced cooking skill, and you may choose
up to two of them each time you prepare a dish. Which two you pick decides
what buff the finished food carries.
The command 'cookbook notes' lists the ingredient pairings you have
discovered ‑‑ which two categories of food, combined, produce which effect.
Every pairing is found by trying it: prepare a dish with two optional
ingredients you have not combined before and your cookbook records what
came of it.
