Epicureanism is the Hearthfolk understanding that a good meal is more
than fuel. It requires no command and is always in effect.

A well‑fed adventurer can carry the benefit of only so many dishes at once,
and that limit is normally set by their advanced cooking. Epicureanism
raises it further as you rise through the ranks of the house: one additional
dish at the rank of Cook, and one more for every rank beyond it, to a total
of four extra at Hearthfolk Elder.

Those who have mastered both their craft and their standing in the house can
sit down to a table of eight dishes and feel the good of every one of them.

Banquetry is the Hearthfolk art of cooking for a crowd rather than a
table. It requires no command and is always in effect.

Advanced cooking allows you to prepare several servings of a recipe at once,
up to four when it is fully mastered. Banquetry raises that further as you
rise through the house: two more servings at the rank of Chef, and two more
again for every rank beyond it.

A Hearthfolk Elder who has mastered advanced cooking can lay down ten
servings of a single dish in one sitting, which is enough to feed a hall.
Preparing a larger batch consumes ingredients for every serving, so the
saving is in your time rather than your pantry.

Gastronomy is a Hearthfolk house skill granted at the fourth rank. A
cook who has studied it draws more out of the same ingredients, and every
buff granted by eating or drinking one of their prepared dishes lands
noticeably harder.

The bonus grows with each rank from the fourth onward:
Head Chef +25% to the strength of all food buffs
Hearthfolk Elder +50% to the strength of all food buffs

This applies to every effect a prepared dish can grant, whether it is
damroll, hit points, mana, regeneration, or one of the experience,
questpoint, gold and house point multipliers. It compounds with the two
factors that already govern how strong a buff is ‑‑ the quality of the
dish and the level of the one eating it ‑‑ so an exquisite meal from a
Hearthfolk Elder is far more potent than the same recipe prepared by an
unranked cook.

The bonus belongs to the cook, not to whoever eats the meal. A dish
prepared by a Hearthfolk Elder carries their full bonus to anyone they
serve it to, which makes a well‑ranked Hearthkeeper's cooking worth
seeking out.

Epic proportions is the final Hearthfolk house skill, granted at the
fifth rank. A Hearthfolk Elder serves in earnest: every dish and drink
they prepare comes out large enough for a second helping.

This is worth considerably more than simply having more food. Each bite
or sip of a prepared dish applies its buff afresh at full duration, so a
second helping is a second full‑length buff. A dish may be half‑eaten
now and finished hours later to renew the effect, or set aside and shared
with someone else entirely.

What matters is the skill of the cook, never that of the one eating.
Anyone at all may sit down to a Hearthfolk Elder's table and receive
both helpings.
