Bremund is at his wits' end, caught in a heated argument with his fellow
alchemist Thelda over her latest invention, a flying contraption held
together with black powder and something she calls feathers of liberation.
He fears her scheme is reckless and dangerous, while Thelda insists it could
change the world, and before long the argument gives way to a much larger,
twisting adventure spanning potion masters, an abandoned mine, and an outlaw
chief with plans of his own for Thelda's invention. What begins as
mediating a squabble grows into tracking down a kidnapped alchemist and
gathering the rare materials needed to finish, and hopefully safely ground,
her dangerous flying machine. |
