Fydric, a priest of Aelyn tending the grove's statue and its flowers, is
a gentle soul torn between the natural order of predator and prey and his
own soft heart. He has heard that a lost kitten is wandering the grove,
unlikely to survive among the hawks and snakes he also cares for, and he
cannot quite bring himself to let nature simply take its course. Handing
over an enchanted, sleep charmed basket, he asks an adventurer to track down
the kitten, catch it gently, and bring it back so he can find it a good home
with a fisherman's family nearby. |
