Your pantry is a store for cooking ingredients. It belongs to your account
rather than to any one character, so anything one of your characters puts
away may be taken out by another.
The command 'pantry inventory' lists the whole pantry. Naming one of
the categories below narrows that list, and 'pantry inventory check
<ingredient>' reports how many of a single thing you hold.

Milk is the one exception to "one item, one ingredient." It is never carried
loose ‑‑ only in a bottle.

If a churn is currently working, one full bottle is left untouched rather
than emptied out from under it.
To put or take a specific amount of anything else, put the count and an
asterisk in front of the name ‑‑ 'pantry inventory get 5*pumpkin' takes
five pumpkins, and 'pantry inventory put 5*pumpkin' puts five away.
Leaving the count off, as in 'get pumpkin', takes just one.
If you have a surplus of one ingredient and need another, trade three of
what you have for one of what you want in the Hearth Larder in the
Grand Hearth Academy. Name what you're giving first, then what you want
in return ‑‑ 'pantry trade turnip walnut' spends 3 turnips from your
pantry and adds 1 walnut.
Not everything can be requested this way. Anything that is itself the
product of a cooking activity ‑‑ ground pepper, flour, yeast, butter, milk,
and filleted fish ‑‑ must still be made properly through that activity, and
cannot be obtained by trade. You may still offer any of these as payment;
the restriction is only on what you receive.
One exception: meat may be requested by trade despite being a prepared
ingredient, so a Pacifist still has a path to it.
