| Description |
Efteling, an ancient and long lived tree who has watched over these woods
for millennia, confides that the pond which once fed his roots has long
since dried to dust, and only luck and the occasional kind passerby have
kept him alive this long. He tells the sorrowful tale of an immortal witch
who once sought to save her mortal lover from age and death, and of the
enchanted pool of water she created inside a stump before losing him anyway.
Efteling believes that same magical water could restore his health for years
to come, and asks a traveler to seek it out and bring it back to pour upon
his roots. It's a quest steeped in tragic history rather than violence,
open to any adventurer strong enough to reach the deeper parts of the woods. |
