A birdhouse is a craftable container that produces eggs over time once
hung in a tree. You may also hang one in your own player home regardless of
sector.
Give it about 15 minutes before a bird starts laying eggs. Once 4 eggs
are sitting in the nest, the birds will not return until the nest has been
cleared. There is a chance with each egg laid that the bird will leave
a feather of liberation behind.
Eggs can be collected by any character on your account, not just the one who
hung the birdhouse. Use 'detach <birdhouse>' to take your own birdhouse
down.
Your account may have up to 3 birdhouses hung at once. A birdhouse hung in
a public area is invisible to other players, so nobody else can use or take
it. A birdhouse hung in your own player home is visible to guests, but only
you may use it.
If a birdhouse hung in a public area fills its nest and is left uncollected
for 7 days, it will be mailed to the post office of the player who hung it,
minus any eggs. Birdhouses hung in your own player home are never removed,
no matter how long the eggs sit uncollected.
Use 'birdhouse list' to see every birdhouse your account has hung, along
with its nest status. Use 'reminder birdhouse' to toggle a login reminder
for when a birdhouse has eggs waiting.
