2. lapidary
The lapidary skill can be acquired By completing the mission given by
Darbyn in Crafters Forge.

A lapidary is an artisan skilled in melting and polishing gems. 3 chipped
gems can be melted into 1 flawed gem, while 3 flawed gems can be melted to
produce 1 perfect gem. Perfect gems cannot be melted.

The melting process requires a tripod cauldron in which 3 gems of the same
condition (such as 3 flawed gems) and same stat type (such as mana) will be
placed along with 1 sulfur deposit. To start the process, the command is
'make gems'.

The resulting gem's level will be an average of the 3 gems melted. Using
the syntax 'heat state' during the process will give you a general idea what
is happening inside the cauldron.

3. advanced lapidary
The advanced lapidary skill can be acquired through the master crafter in
Crafters Forge.

With this skill, the level of the resulting gem from melting 3 gems together
will be slightly higher than the average level of the gems for those skilled
in advanced lapidary. This skill also increases the chance at generating
gems whose level is closer to the area's upper level. Furthermore, it
improves your chance of a good outcome when polishing gems, but even when
fully mastered, you can still smudge a gem.

Complete mastery in advanced lapidary:
‑ Reduces the time it takes to melt gems by up to 25%.
‑ Increases the number of times a gem can be polished by 1 time.
‑ Allows you to carefully extract gems from items to free up gem slots an
repurpose old gems.
‑ Doubles the maximum number of gems you can melt at a time.
