to utter magical incantations. Psionicist abilities are powered by focused
mental energy rather than spoken incantations. The silence spell only
prevents sound and disrupts verbal casting, but psionicists do not rely on
speech to use their powers. Because their abilities are entirely internal,
silence has no effect on them.
