Leraeus, an elemental artisan from an old and troubled family, is shaken
to learn that his own brother Laurus has taken Kessida captive, driven by
delusions of a legendary ancestor and a belief that some dark power awaits
in a place called Everlasting Silence. Torn between family loyalty and
horror at what Laurus has become, he begs an adventurer to travel east along
the Twilight Travels Highway, brave that place of ancient decay, and bring
Kessida back safely, whatever it takes with Laurus. It's an emotionally
charged rescue mission at the climax of a longer story, demanding real
combat readiness given the danger waiting in Everlasting Silence. Leraeus's
plea is raw and desperate, a brother caught between grief and love. |
