Just off the north coast of the lagoon that holds Hillock Hills, Nokova Island has always been rumoured to be an unlucky place. Prone to occasional high seas, and cold breezes from the open ocean, it was long thought the land was not worth settling. However, a few years ago, some enterprising folk, board of the stayed pace of life in HoneyBee Village decided to brave the rumours and the waters, and settle the island. Hardy and independent, they set up a small village of wooden huts on the upper parts of the island, tilling the ground, cutting down trees for lumber, and even constructing harbour facilities and their own fleet of fishing vessels. Ill luck however has recently struck again. A storm; perhaps magical, perhaps just the whim of the tides, swamped the island with a monstrous tidal wave, smashing walls, ruining gardens, and leaving the villagers scrabbling for food and shelter. Though not too proud to accept help from any stranger who washes up on their shores, the islanders are resolved to stay. For better or worse, Nokova Island is their home, and neither storms nor monsters are going to drive them from it.
