Levels 10–15
Most dwarf cities boast a reputation for crafting, but none surpassed the mountain halls of Crag Fell. Cut deep into the side of a sheer cliff, and protected by a hidden magical door, the city possessed deep mines, skillful smiths, and peerless gem cutters. As per dwarven tradition, all craft skills remained a jealously guarded trade secret, passed down from master to apprentice by word of mouth. All of that changed sixty years ago when a pestilence struck Crag Fell, a plague so virulent that even the most sturdy dwarves were helpless before it, warriors and merchants, masters and apprentices, carrying all their knowledge with them into the afterlife. Only one master survived, Kamly diamond brow. Previously looked down on for being the son of a human father, it was likely only his half human heritage which spared him the ravages of the plague. By sheer force of personality, he took control over the few remaining dwarves of Crag Fell, vowing that this time, things would be different, no more secrets, no more jealousy. Now, knowledge of all crafts would be shared equally among any who wanted to learn them. Now known as Crafters forge, the city has since prospered. Attracting artisans of every sort, even those skilled in crafts which dwarves traditionally thought little of, such as foraging, tailoring and bee keeping have found a place to ply their trades. With new artisans moving in all the time, Crafters Forge is a perfect place for anyone who wants to learn any skills of making or shaping, the only requirement a desire to learn, and a willingness to work hard. The city even boasts its own fellowship of artisans, a band of highly dedicated crafters who trade finished goods or raw materials with each other. Though as per Kamly's stern edict, no craft secrets will be kept within the fellowship, since in Crafters Forge, all knowledge is freely given.
